Spent a day in Grytviken, South Georgia. Turned 49 on the ship. Could not have asked for a nicer birthday. Very grateful.

Last night we saw a group of humpback whales from the ship. Decided not take photos but just watched. I am looking forward to our first day in South Georgia today. Hope not get bitten by a seal. This photo was taken in Falkland Islands and we see similar birds flying around above our ship.

Tonight our head chef and her team offered us, passengers five course vegetarian dinner as a way of safeguarding the environment. Although many passengers seemed to opt for meat or fish, I tried her vegetarian course and it was full of pleasant surprises. I particularly enjoyed this avocado sorbet.

Sea is very rough but did not fall off from the treadmill. Many mandatory briefings on the ship in order to keep South Georgia and Antartica as pristine as possible. I am grateful that I can still run and be part of this game. I heard the partipants must get fitness check by the doctor and expedition team in order to participate some activities in South Georgia. Maybe that is why the fitness room was extra busy today ...

I found this ‘bird’ while walking on the beach and placed her/him on the sea cabbage. There are many flowers and plants I had never seen and they are very rich in colours. The sea was quite rough while I was running on the treadmill yesterday. At times felt like floating in the air side to side or to the back ; was a bit challenging but kept me entertained with fascinating view and try not fall over ...!

We spent a day in Rome before taking a flight to Buenos Aires. Beautiful winter day and I saw lots of people running.
